120MPH in a 55MPH Zone

A St. Petersburg woman was arrested on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. for a DUI. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a trooper was passed on the Gandy Bridge by a driver who was traveling at 120 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. The driver, Brittany Bianchi, resisted arrest and has been charged with resisting an officer with violence, battery on law enforcement, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Driving is an inherently risky activity, and driving while impaired by drugs or alcohol increases the danger on the road for everyone. According to various sources, the number of car accidents in the United States ranges from 5.25 million to 6 million per year. This means that on average, there are between 14,000 to 18,500 car accidents every day, resulting in one accident every four to six minutes. Some of those crashes are fatal. The statistics are scary and we should avoid mixing drugs and the road. If you need help from a recent DUI A-1 Driving Schools is here to help with our DUI School and Risk Reduction class.
