Driver Clocked Going 109mph on I-285 on New Year’s Eve

New Year’s Eve is a day known infamously for big celebrations and spending time with friends, but it is also famous for notoriously bad driving and DUIs. New Year’s Eve should be known as a happy time that enables family and friends to celebrate, and once they are done with family festivities they should be able to drive home safely. Although it may seem fun to drive at fast speeds it is INCREDIBLY dangerous. Over 70% of crash fatalities occur at over 45mph. When driving at 50mph the survival rate drops down to 31%. Our lives should not be left up to statistics and the chance of being lucky enough to reach that 31%.

A driver recently was arrested for reaching 109mph on I-285 by Dunwoody police. Not only was this dangerous for them but it was dangerous for everyone around them. Thankfully there was no one injured in this incident but it should still be avoided at all costs. When you are driving safety should be your number one priority and there are many solutions to improve the way you drive. One way is Defensive driving classes can seriously help and benefit the way you drive and also lower your car insurance. Stay safe on the roads!
