Federal Drug Prosecutor Offers Business Card in Hit and Run

A recently released body camera footage shows a federal narcotics prosecutor interacting with an officer during a DUI hit-and-run investigation. The footage reveals the prosecutor sharing his official Department of Justice business card with the officer, raising questions about the nature of their relationship and whether the prosecutor was attempting to use his position to influence the investigation. The prosecutor gave the officer his business card after he was involved in a hit-and-run, which was an inappropriate act.
The situation at hand is deeply concerning. It is completely unacceptable for someone’s position or rank to absolve them of accountability, particularly if their actions could have caused harm to others. We must ensure that everyone is held responsible for their actions, regardless of their status or position. If you have ever had a Hit-and-Run just know its in the past and A-1 Driving Schools is here to help.

Methamphetamine and Marijuana

A man from Indiana was arrested for driving a Power Wheels Jeep under the influence of drugs. John McKee, 51, was arrested by the Indiana State Police on August 23. The trooper observed McKee driving on the road in his blue toy jeep without any lights or flashers. McKee failed field sobriety tests and was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. He was found to be under the influence of methamphetamine and marijuana.

Operating a vehicle while under the influence of marijuana and methamphetamine can have devastating consequences. One may experience impaired judgment, decreased reaction time, and a distorted sense of reality. These substances can affect a person’s ability to operate a vehicle safely and increase the risk of accidents. A tragic example of this is John McKee, who ended up in a dangerous situation due to driving under the influence of drugs. It is crucial to avoid driving under the influence of any substance to ensure the safety of oneself and others on the road. If anything like this has happened to you just know that driving under the influence can harm you and others seriously. If you need help reach out to A-1 Driving Schools and we can help!

Former Driving Instructor Sentenced to 18 years

A former driving instructor based on the Peninsula was sentenced to 18 years in prison for coercing teenage girls into creating pornography to distribute online and for engaging in sexual acts with some of them.
Johnnatan Zelaya Izaguirre. In his plea agreement, Izaguirre admitted to recruiting girls between the ages of 14 and 17 to create pornographic images to post online. He admitted to having sex with at least two of the girls, including one of them on video. He then distributed that video to what federal prosecutors described as a “client.” He was charged on May 1 with two counts of coercion and enticement of a minor, one count of receipt of child pornography, one count of possession of child pornography, and one count of distribution of child pornography. He pleaded guilty to all charges.

This isn’t just a driving school issue it is an issue it’s an issue for parents and kids. No one has this much access to young girls and boys and is in his place of power. We hope nothing like this has happened to you or your family members. If something has we hope you have reached out to someone about it and have received justice for this disgusting act, and if you are a parent we hope your child is doing better and we hope for the best for you.

DUI on Horseback

A drunken rider was arrested in central California for riding on a horse. A video from the California Highway Patrol shows an officer using a patrol car to guide the riderless horse home. The rider had an open container of alcohol and was arrested for DUI. The laws that apply to drivers and alcohol also cover individuals riding animals. Impaired riding, even on a horse, poses risks to both the rider and others on the road.
The presence of alcohol and horses on the road poses significant safety risks to both riders and other road users. Even though horses are powerful animals, they can easily get spooked and cause accidents, putting themselves and others in danger. It is crucial to avoid combining alcohol and horses on the road to prevent any potential harm or mishap. If you didn’t know not to drive a horse while under the influence we can help you at A-1 Driving Schools.

Discrimination at Werner

A jury has recently found that Werner Enterprises and one of its driving school subsidiaries should pay over $36 million in damages related to a 2018 discrimination complaint. The complaint claimed that Werner refused to hire a deaf driver and denied him a reasonable accommodation. In response to the allegations, the carrier denied them in a court document filed in 2018 in the U.S. District Court in Nebraska. However, a spokesperson for the company expressed their disappointment with the decision made by the jury and stated that they are considering an appeal.

It is unacceptable for a driving school to discriminate against anyone, especially on the basis of a disability that they cannot control. Deafness is one such disability that should not be a cause for shame or exclusion. We strongly believe that Werner’s decision to deny the job to the deaf individual was unprofessional and unfair. We hope that you and loved ones have never went through an experience like this and if you have A-1 Driving Schools is here to help.

Driver Causes 5-Vehicle Crash

During the afternoon of Wednesday, a head-on collision occurred, and it was suspected that the driver was impaired. Further investigation revealed that the driver had been arrested less than 12 hours earlier for suspicion of DUI in a distinct incident. At approximately 1:10 p.m., the driver’s vehicle veered into the inside lane, then into the median, and ultimately into oncoming traffic, resulting in a collision with another vehicle head-on. At least two commercial vehicle cameras captured the collision, which the sheriff’s office shared with KSL 5 on Wednesday evening. Sgt. Spencer Cannon reported that, in total, five vehicles were damaged in the crash, but the driver sustained the most significant injuries and was airlifted to the hospital.

This is a devastating crash and an awful experience for anyone to go through. We hope the people in the other cars are recovering speedily.  This just shows had bad a crash can be, we are glad that the crash wasn’t bigger but there should have never been a crash in the first place.  We need to minimize drinking while driving because of outcomes like this. If you have been in a situation like this came to A-1 Driving School and we are glad to help with all your driving needs.
