While driving

Slow down(Wet roads reduce traction)

Increase following distance(Double it if it’s heavy rain/torrential downpour)

Turn on headlights (Helps you see and be seen)

Brake gently and early(DO NOT suddenly brake!!!)

Steer smoothly(It is important to not make sharp moves or movements)
If Hydroplaning happens

Stay calm

Ease off the gas (don’t brake hard)

Steer straight until traction comes back
Extra things to remember

Be careful on bridges, overpasses, and painted lines: They get slick first.

Crack a window or use a defogger if windows fog up.
