A woman in the Florida Keys led police on a high-speed chase, reaching speeds of up to 110 mph. However, this became dangerous as she drove past a half-mile marathon. The driver eventually crashes into a construction area. 41-year-old Courtney Apps was caught and then urinated on herself and then started playing gospel songs before being taken into custody.

A man was arrested in Beach Park for DUI after crashing into a building, causing a Chevrolet Silverado to catch fire. Good Samaritans saved the driver and a passenger. Both were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver was cited with DUI-alcohol and reckless driving and is required to appear in court on Jan. 24, 2024.

Georgia state prosecutors have filed a motion to modify Tiffany Haddish’s bond conditions after her second DUI arrest. They want her to be prohibited from using drugs and alcohol, and to be tested weekly for these substances. Haddish was arrested last Friday morning for falling asleep at the wheel, in Beverly Hills, California, and charged with DUI. This is almost two years after her first arrest for a suspected DUI in Georgia. Haddish’s representative has declined to comment on her latest arrest. The Beverly Hills Police Department received a call about a woman who was found in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle stopped in the middle of Beverly Drive. Haddish had performed the night before at a Thanksgiving community event. She addressed the DUI arrest during a stand-up set in Long Beach, joking about praying for a man in a uniform. On Monday, Haddish told Entertainment Tonight that this would never happen again.

We believe that the state prosecutors made a good decision by trying to prohibit her from drugs and alcohol. A 12-year-old boy from Ann Arbor has been placed in juvenile detention after stealing a Construction Genie Telehandler from Forsyth Middle School and leading police on a dangerous one-hour chase in Michigan. The boy hit ten parked vehicles during the pursuit and was taken into custody before being placed in a juvenile detention center. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but this was an extremely dangerous situation that could have resulted in serious harm. A criminal investigation is currently ongoing.

A 21-year-old man from Portland was charged with reckless driving by the Gresham police after being caught driving at a speed exceeding 100 miles per hour on Powell Boulevard on Wednesday morning. According to the authorities, Giovanni Smith recklessly sped past a patrol car near 1200 East Powell Blvd around 2 a.m. and refused to stop when an officer attempted to pull him over. Smith eventually crashed into a street sign and house fence after spinning out near 3900 SE Powell Valley Road, officials say and tried to run away without shoes. Smith has been charged with multiple offenses, including reckless driving, unauthorized use of a vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, DUI, and other unrelated warrants. Furthermore, he is facing two felony charges for attempting to elude a police officer and failing to perform the duties of a driver.

People hit and killed by drivers in Atlanta last year has went up 20% since the last year. Council members has passed a law so to decrease speeding and driving while drunk. The resolution targets drag racing, street racing, reckless driving, exceeding speed limits, and drunk driving. The resolution states first-time offenders would have their licenses suspended for five years. The second offense earns a license suspension for a decade. A third offense would have the offender’s license suspended for life. It is called “Erica’s Law” in honor of Erica Pines, an Atlanta resident and former city employee who was critically injured on July 28 in a vehicle accident that left her with a shattered right ankle. She required multiple surgeries and is facing a 50% mobility, according to the legislation. Witnesses said the driver who hit her was racing with another car on the road, and he was simply given a ticket and allowed to go on about his business. 59-year-old Phyllis Poole crashed into a bus while drunk. Phyllis crashed into a fully parked car on Jolly Pond Road before backing into the driveway and then hitting the bus. In this crash, 7 of the children on the bus were injured. Thankfully no children were seriously hurt. She was taken to the hospital before she was arrested on charges of DUI and destruction of property.

Drinking while driving should never be applauded especially if it endangers the life of children.
