19-year-old Arrested for Aggravated DUI

Treyvon McKinney was arrested for aggravated DUI. McKinney ran through the stop sign at 14th and Cook Streets and hit a car that was driving through the intersection. There were three people in the car McKinney hit: Danielle Burton and two others. Officials said Burton was ejected from the car and later died from her injuries at HSHS St, John’s Hospital. Danielle was 19 years old at the time. The other two were hospitalized, but they are expected to be ok. Springfield Police are still investigating the crash and Danielle’s death.

We hope Danielle’s family is doing fine and we hope the people who were in the car with her have recovered. This is an example of just how dangerous driving while intoxicated is. Before you hit the road think about how much you drank, and it was too much, get an Uber, a Lyft, or etc.. It’s not worth the risk to drive drunk, but if you have and need a trustworthy risk reduction program A-1 Driving Schools is here for you!

Former Sheriff Arrested for Murder

A now-former Bexar County sheriff’s deputy has been arrested for murder, accused of drunkenly crashing into a man and fleeing the scene. Sheriff Javier Salazar said Giovanni Ceja, 31, was on vacation in California when he borrowed a vehicle from a relative. He drank “a significant amount of alcohol” before driving down IH 215 and hitting a man who was on the side of the road putting gas in the car. Investigators said he fled, but part of the damaged car was left at the scene. “He’s wearing orange and being booked into the same jail he came to work at this morning.”

We hope the family of the man who was hit is fine. We also wish that nothing like this happens to you or your loved ones. This shows how dangerous driving is and it can affect anyone. You should never drink while driving, but if it has happened we hope that no one was harmed and you are safe. If you still need a DUI school A-1 Driving Schools has courses that can be taken by anyone.

Drug Charges for DUI School

A man named Lester Wayne Barnaby, aged 68, has been accused of drug-related offenses. An investigation revealed that he had presented fake driving school and DUI school certificates to the courts. The Criminal Investigation Division shared on Facebook that they executed a search warrant at Barnaby’s home on Ridge Road in Caryville on Friday. The division started the investigation after they suspected that Barnaby was creating fraudulent certificates. During the search, deputies discovered computers, electronic storage devices, printers, firearms, drugs, and more than $5,600 in cash. Barnaby has been arrested and charged with various crimes such as possession of illegal substances, drug paraphernalia, and possessing a firearm while committing a felony.

This is terrifying to know that the driving school you went to was using fake court certificates and that they might not have taught you properly. It is also scary to know that he got away with this for a long period of time. We hope that you or your family never experience this at a driving school you thought was trustworthy. At A-1 Driving Schools we are trustworthy and have real verified certificates, and we hope if you need anything driving related we are glad to help.

DUI Leads to Aggravated Assault on Law Enforcement

3:20 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 4, law enforcement officials were notified by the Lawrence Police Department that a chase had started after officers saw a vehicle going 100 mph on Iowa near 19th St. – right next to the University of Kansas campus in the central part of the city. The suspect was later identified as 22 year-old Josue A. Padron. The Sheriff’s Office said the chase ended near Northwest Lawrence after Padron, who was headed west in the 800 block of N. 1800 Rd. – the Farmer’s Turnpike – recklessly drove head-on into oncoming traffic. First responders said they were able to slow the vehicle to a stop before Padron collided with any other vehicles. He was taken into custody and arrested.

DUI with 5-year-old Son

Thaddeus Tobias Thompson, 39, was charged with driving under the influence while his young son was in the car Sunday morning in Lisle. Police said Thompson appeared to be impaired, and they also found his 5-year-old son in the car. Police recovered 100 grams of cannabis and alcohol from the vehicle. The child was turned over to a family member, and thankfully he was not injured during the incident.

Driving is so dangerous, and adding alcohol into the equation is lethal. We are glad Thompson’s son is safe and we hope Thaddeus receives trustworthy DUI classes. If you are in a situation like Thompson you can trust A1 Driving Schools.

Woman Caught Driving Under the Influence of Cocaine

Nina Fish, 37, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs after state police received “numerous 911 calls” on her driving. She with is charged with reckless driving, illegally operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs, possession of a controlled substance, reckless driving, and use of drug paraphernalia. Dispatchers stated that they received numerous 911 calls on the vehicle and had the Department of Transportation cameras showing her car almost striking other vehicles. Her vehicle was searched “incident to arrest and two baggies of Cocaine were obtained,” police said.

Cocaine is a dangerous substance, especially while driving. Cocaine can reduce your ability to make good decisions, impair your judgment and endanger your health, which could easily lead to reckless overconfidence and disaster on the road. Hopefully, Nina takes a risk reduction class and learns from this situation. If you need a risk reduction class like Nina, A1 Driving Schools offers online and in-person classes that you can take at your own pace.

Deputy Terminated after DUI

It has been reported by officials that a deputy employed in Georgia has been dismissed from his position due to being charged with driving under the influence. Specifically, on July 3rd at 5:27 a.m., the Houston County Sheriff’s Office received notifications of an intoxicated driver suspected to be at the intersection of Houston Lake Road and Russell Parkway.

It is an unfortunate situation to see an officer of law being arrested for a DUI. We hope he recovers and takes DUI classes to help him through this.

Rosemy-Jacksaint Apologizes for Reckless Driving

It’s unfortunate to hear that Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, a talented wide receiver, was recently apprehended on charges of reckless driving and speeding. It seems he is one of several University of Georgia football players who have faced similar driving offenses. However, it’s good to know that he is expressing remorse for his actions. According to law enforcement officials, he was recorded driving at a dangerously high velocity of 90 miles per hour in a 45 miles per hour section of Atlanta Highway in Athens. The report also noted that the driver was seen zigzagging through traffic at a high speed.

It was commendable that he acknowledged his mistake and offered an apology. We wish him a speedy recovery and recommend taking a risk reduction class to prevent future incidents.

Risk Reduction

Last week, Joliet police arrested a 51-year-old man named David E. Sticha for driving under the influence of alcohol. The criminal complaint shows that Sticha had been arrested for DUI three times before, in 1995, 2010, and 2012. This recent arrest marked his fourth violation of driving under the influence. Along with this, he was charged with driving on a revoked license, which he had been convicted of before. Sticha also had a previous conviction for reckless homicide. As a result, he has been ordered to be held without bond and is currently in custody at the Will County Jail.

Hopefully, the risk reduction program will get him back on the right path to make better decisions in the future.
